PBB's way of communicating

We have been discussing what communication is for the past weeks. I've always thought communicating to others is as easy as breathing. I mean all of us need to communicate to others. Now allow me to SEND you a MESSAGE about what has been bothering me for the past days. Be a good RECEIVER, ok?=)

I love watching Pinoy Big Brother (atleast before the wendy controversy). It shows the adoptability of pinoys to the changes in their environment. We, the pinoys, are generally chismosos and chismosas. That's our nature. It's just who we are. It shows our flexibility and friendliness, and it basically caters the interest of the mass. Watching pbb is for my relaxation, entertainment, or sometimes my escape to the real world of drama. It is not hard to follow the drama that's happening inside the bahay ni kuya. You could watch it every night before you go to bed or while you are studying or when you are simply bored and unable to sleep. It also has updates in between your favorite shows. There's even an update in the wee hours in the morning (pbb uplate). If you are still not contented there's the pbb in studio23. Pbb is basically shown around the clock.

The pbb never fails to uprise the interest of its audience (whether in a good or bad way). There's a lot of controversy in the show. The show uses not only the television as its medium but also the newspaper. Whenever i walk past the newspaper stands, i always find headlines about the shows credibility (specially now). The show is also the topic of most of the radio shows in AM stations. It's everywhere and it seems like a nightmare forever following you.

We the viewers, not only play the receiver of the messages which the pbb sends, but also becomes the sender whenever we react to the controversy that's happpening inside the bahay. We can't help it specially if our blood is boiling because of a particular person (and as for me that's Wendybugs). We send our feelings and opinions for it is our way of releasing our stress and frustation over the show. We sometimes group together to talk about the show. And sometimes we also talk about it publicly like what i am doing now, in our blogs, our multiply, a simple bulletin in our friendsters, or a simple group message passed in the messenger. These feedbacks are important to the show and it sometime measures the popularity of the show.

Pbb has definitely affected its viewers just the same as the viewers have an effect on the show. And both effects and acts have consequences. And that's what we should always remeber.
